AFGE Fifth District made history this weekend, August 27, 2011 as we celebrated our Rededication and Mortgage Burning of our building. The Fifth District is the first and only district to own it's building. We made history again.
The building is named after National Vice President, Emeritus Kenneth Blaylock. Mr. Blaylock was the keynote speaker. National Secretary-Treasurer J. David Cox attended and participated in this historic event. National Vice President, Emeritus Bobby Harnage, National Vice President, Emeritus Mary Lynn Walker and Former National Secretary- Treasurer Jim Davis attended and spoke at this historic event. We had a crowd of about 150 AFGE Fifth District members along with other Union Leaders and dignitaries.
